This post makes me want to go back to the Maldives and just relax by the clear waters and snorkel the day away. This was my second trip to the Maldives as the first one was last year in April and it was just as magical. Only difference was I stayed in a different hotel.
This time around I stayed at the Angsana Ihuru Resort & Spa that is a chain/sister hotel to the Banyan tree, which was basically a swim away (but they do give you a boat to get there) the hotel was splendid and the beach villa front was simply magical.
I really needed the trip and the secluded getaway just because I haven’t really taken anytime off this year and this trip was it for me.
Here is the Angsana Ihuru Resort & Spa breakdown:
The Room: I stayed in a beach front villa, it has a bedroom that’s connected to the dining room and a backyard that well you know.. Takes you right into the water.
The Bed: comfortable king size bed, clean sheets and oh the amount of pillows was simply perfect. I love pillows in case you guys have taken any notice.
The Toilets: the fun part was that it was located outdoor, so you can take a shower under the stars and trees and listening to the birds sing. It has 2 sinks (his and hers), a Jacuzzi/ hot tub perfect for honeymooners.
The Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner: There’s nothing I love more than an open buffet! Especially when everything served is freshly cooked. Thank you Angsana for feeding me such delicious food.
We started off breakfast with eggs and pancakes, lunch was mainly just rice and steak for me and of course dinner was the fresh catch of the day, trust me their selection of seafood was on point and you get to watch the chef cook it for you!
Extra Service: our second night there we actually had the best service ever!!! Ok I understand it mainly meant to be for couples, but I had my girls with me and it made it all the more special. We actually had a BBQ by our beach front villa and the chef prepared the most spectacular seafood selection ever made (you can change the menu if you want to) the best part was that the stars were shining bright!
SPA: after spending a whole day swimming and diving we ended up at the spa as you do. It was a fabulous experience. You have the option of doing it indoor or outdoor, of course I picked outdoor! The misuse was very tentative and well experienced I felt very much relaxed after that session.
Others: So you have the option of trying wind surfing, diving, wake boarding and dolphin watching at the hotel. One thing that disappointed me was heading all the way out to go dolphin watching and not being as close to the dolphins as we wanted to be, but of course they are animals and do their own thing.
But the best part was, we decided to go wake boarding the next day and guess who I was in the water with? A whole bunch of dolphins, it was the most magical thing ever. I’ll try sharing a video with you guys once I can get my camera fixed.
