Oh Egypt… such a raw beauty isn’t she? Luxor is honestly a city that is charismatic and so rich with history. It’s different than anything I had experience before. I mean Cairo was different but definitely not for me. The only two things I enjoyed visiting was the Pyramids and the Citadel. Everything else was just okay? But Luxor is more of my kind of place, it’s laid back and so much more to explore and see.
So I had a list of temples and things I wanted to do and see in Luxor. We did the most in just a few days, but the one place I was excited to see the most was the Karnak Temple. It was GLORIOUS! Like wow… how the pharos used to live was something else and just remarkable. What a time to be alive huh?
We got to Karnak Temple right after our hot air balloon ride which was around 9am. So mind you it was just us and maybe a handful of people.. we practically had the whole place to ourselves and it was so much more easier to take pictures and enjoy the place fully. You could spend hours and hours there just learning about the writings and seeing all the different corners of basically magic.
We decided to leave at around 11am and as we were walking out we saw .. I kid you not.. about 15 busses fulllll of tourists pulling up to Karnak Temple. NOW I WOULD HAVE HATED THAT. I still don’t understand people who go on tour busses. You don’t really experience as much as you would if you were alone with a tour guide or just alone. I enjoy going on my own it just feels so much more relaxed and easier.
So how do you enjoy your tours?
